Terminology is loose in this category, so it is worth fixing: a windrow turner is the machine class, a compost turner is the everyday short name, and this model is the self-propelled crawler form that straddles the pile and drives itself along it. It earns its place where piles are turned on a schedule — open windrows and the curing area of a covered plant — rather than inside fermentation grooves.
